Despite the fact that trams has lost popularity in Moscow, they will not disappear from the streets of the capital, said at Wednesday press-conference Peter Ivanov, General Director of Mosgortrans.
He acknowledged that the capital's trams are one of the most remunerative and environment friendly urban transport. "Only a tram with a comparable capacity to the metro is more cheap type of transportation, especially in construction, ", - said Ivanov.
He also said that tram with low floor adapted for the disabled would begin to walk soon.
In addition, he reported that in February of this year it was decided to hold a tram road to the capital town Severniy.
